Sunday 13th April

Enjoyed another day at home today and cleaned the Villa ready for our first visit from our landlady who is arriving tomorrow from Germany. I also thought it was a good day for Charlotte to do some school work(almost an impossible task!). In the afternoon we had a visit from a old Italian man named Ernesto, who drove up our driveway in his little Ape {Ah-pay} (this is a tiny three wheeled truck made by Piaggio the makers of the Vespa). Ernesto, who speaks no English introduced himself in Italian then sort of just stood there and smiled. Leon who seems quite confident in trying his limited Italian language skills, worked out that Ernesto’s family were the original owners of the villa and Ernesto had lived here, most of his life selling it only 5 years ago. Ernesto seemed to be looking for Eleanor our landlady and Leon tried to explain to him she wasn’t arriving until tomorrow. With lots of arrivederci’s and ciao’s Ernesto drove off.
